BDI Security can supply, install and maintain a range of Class 2 and Class 3 certified wired or wireless alarm systems suitable for all your home or business needs.
If you are a homeowner, a working Class 2 alarm installed in your home could reduce your contents insurance by between 10 and 20%.
For a business owner an intruder alarm system is one of the most prudent security devices you can install. Some insurance companies may offer a discount on your business premises insurance. When considering what grade of alarm to install in your business premises, it should be noted that many insurers require a Class 3 alarm as a minimum.
Whether you are a home or business owner it is also essential that yearly maintenance is carried out to verify the system is still working correctly. We offer a full service and maintenance package for all intruder alarms installed by BDI Security.
What is a Class 2 alarm
A Class 2 certified alarm system includes:
- A mains powered, battery backed up control panel with hardwired or wireless links to each detector
- A local site notification system (siren) to alert neighbours or site personnel
- A remote notification system to alert nominated persons (key holders) via either a Speech or Voice dialler if connected to a normal landline or – and preferred by insurance companies due to not being as vulnerable to phone lines being cut – a mobile dialler which can also send a text message.
What is a Class 3 alarm
A Class 3 certified alarm system is commonly known as a “Monitored Alarm” and includes everything found in a Class 2 alarm but instead of notifications being sent to nominated persons via Voice Dialler/Text Message, all notifications are sent via coded signals via a telephone and/or radio based Alarm Transmission System to a 24/7 manned alarm receiving centre. They in turn contact yourself as a keyholder.
